Freenet 0.5rc1 has been released. It is available for unix users from
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/freenet/freenet-0.5rc1.tgz?download
Windows users should use the autoinstaller, which is at
http://freenetproject.org/snapshots/freenet-webinstall.exe

Freenet 0.5rc1 contains substantial fixes and improvements from 0.5pre5,
including a small patch that should significantly reduce the time it
takes to find data (once the new version is widely deployed),
substantial improvements to startup times and a number of other
important bugfixes.

It will become Freenet 0.5.0 on Monday if no critical bugs are found in
the meantime, and has been created from a frozen branch. When it is
released as 0.5.0, it will become a mandatory upgrade (meaning that it
will refuse to talk to old nodes), so please upgrade now.
