I think that the ideal is that gateway links can be customized, and the 
distribution servlet will include such customizations in versions of 
Freenet that it distributes.

This way, in the nightmare scenario that the Freenet website is killed, 
and the distro servlet is the only distribution mechanism, the links on 
the gateway page won't go stale over time.
