Subject: Java DNS caching problems
From: Paul Cowan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi,

I am the author of this page, which I think you may have seen
before: http://www.buzzsurf.com/java/dns/

I noticed your comments here; http://www.mail-
archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg07048.html

I really don't know what "freenet" is, and haven't looked into
it. But from the comments you made it looks like that is
irrevelent to the problem you are having with java and dns
caching.

I've run into very similar problems with java not clearing the
dns cache, and wanted to give a quick piece of advice. Are
you running on Windows 2k or XP? If so, there is an
operating system cache that may be your problem, but it
appears to be java. See this; http://www.windows-
help.net/WindowsXP/tune-24.html

-Paul
