OK, seriously why not optimize to work with 56k? GNUnet is able to do this and
their architecture is remarkably similar. They just use a 1KB block size.
Similarly the Alpine network is able to make excellent use of low bandwidth
users by using very small messages to large number of hosts all over one UDP
connection. It seems to me that routing could be improved if we used a
smaller packet size, and ideally with a protocol (I know UDP is a lot of
work...) But why not just have low bandwidth users files that aren't all that
popular and not maintain as many connections. Their space could be put to
good use and they could help in routing if we adopted my proposal for "Faster
return paths." recently submitted to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is there any reason why this
couldn't work, or is there something I'm missing?
