Hello,

This is my first post to the mailing list by the way. So, let me introduce
myself. I'm a Comp Sci major at Penn State (PA, USA) interested in all
sorts of tech stuff -- and stumbled upon Freenet and think it's a great
idea.

Anyway, I have a DSL line (640/170) and have been running Freenet since mid
July.

I had to throttle back the upload speed so that my surfing didn't suffer
(download is set rather high). Could we add a way of being able to
dynamically (without restarting the node) change the throttles? That way, a
node could be run with less bandwidth while I was say surfing, and then
switched wide open when I was not using the connection?

I've restarted the node to change this, but my understanding is that the
longer the node runs the better it becomes at routing, so I hate to do that
just to change my stinking settings.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeremy Caleb Heffner
