"Request Freesite by URI" replaced by "Download a File from Freenet or go to a Freesite@
"Insert file by URI" replaced by "Insert a file into the Freenet network"
Key: [Textbox] replaced by a drop-down box (or radio buttons) with the following options:
KSK@
CHK@
SSK@
When you click on KSK@ or SSK@ a textbox appears next to it, when you select CHK@, no textbox appears.
Either way, when you select something, a short paragraph appears right underneath with a description:
"KSK - Keyword signed key Insert your file into freenet and give it any name you want.
Note: While convenient, this means that someone else might already be using the same name, and different files with the same name might co-exist on Freenet"
Example: hello.mp3"
"CHK - Content Hash Key?
Insert your file into freenet using a unique non-descriptive name. You can not specify the name yourself.
Note: The name is generated from the actual contents of your file and is unique, but it is long and inconvenient when passing it on to your friends.
Example: klsjfskfjsklfjsdlk"
"SSK - Signed subspace key
Taking a bit from the two other types of keys, an SSK is a long unique name, followed by a descriptive name that you can specify
Example: ksfjdslkfjslkfjsklj/hello.mp3"
If you select KSK or SSK and the textbox appears, all they have to do is put 'hello.mp3' in and click insert. The SSK keys should be generated behind the scenes. At the end of the insert you say "your friends can get your file using CHK/KSK/[EMAIL PROTECTED]'
In the case of SSK you also say at the end of insert:
"Next time you insert a file using SSK, you can use the same public key (that's the 'ksfjkdslfjskjl' part of the filename). Think of this as your own website, you are the only one that can put files there! Just write your password/private key down (kfjskdfjs) and use it next time you insert a file on the front page"
Now, next time the front page loads, it should have an extra field when you select SSK to enter your private key. This shouldn't appear the first time to simplify things. In fact the public keys should be stored somewhere and appear in a drop-down box so you can just pick them from a list. So instead of just having SSK@, KSK@, and CHK@, you'll also have [EMAIL PROTECTED] in there.
Don't even get me started on the "Node Information" links on the left of the Web interface.
