Doesn't the fact that they said that it wasn't, to me, constitute Sun
letting us now?  I'll forward those emails to devl tomorrow to let the rest
of the mailing list decide.

Well, it's in cvs...   All it requires is a cvs backout and someone to
upload the jre to snapshots as jre-win32-latest.exe.  And of course,
confirmation from Sun that it's ok to do what they already *specifically*
told me we cannot do.

I've already suggested the best line of attack on devl (a month ago? more?)
which is to make the installer get the jre from Sun's servers instead of
ours.  That will be easy.  Could anyone with a bit of time make this change
please?
