hobbs on IRC's node announced successfully at HTL 6. Mine announced at HTL 3, but only because it was set to only try HTL 3 - I have wiped the RT and node file and left it to try again at HTL 15. The significance of this is that since late last year at least, an announcement at HTL 3 has been rare, HTL 2 being more common, and HTL of as high as 6 completely unheard of. Please go through your logs - did you see a message like this?:
Nov 5, 2003 8:22:39 PM (freenet.node.states.announcing.Announcing, YThread-49, NORMAL): Announced node successfully to d20a 39dc 71be 5c7d e332 dff4 08ab 20a0 45e4 431c at depth 6. Successful announcements are noted at NORMAL priority, so they should be in your logs if your node has announced recently. I would like to see a few successful announcement HTLs - this is evidence that NGRouting is improving load balancing, or some other factor is. -- Matthew J Toseland - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Freenet Project Official Codemonkey - http://freenetproject.org/ ICTHUS - Nothing is impossible.
