A number much lower than 40 will just result in the network not working at all. Whereas now... it doesn't work much.
Toad, If I understand this variable correctly, and I'm -not- sure that I do, it says "how many of my peers can I smack with a request before I should give up forwarding that request?" . It hasn't even come into play, according to what people saw with searchFailedCount (thank you again!).
It's probably best forgotten for now. Its only utility in the future would be like putting blinders on a horse(horse=NGR). But blinders are adjustable, I think... don't know, I don't own a horse :)
