My apologies for the confusion.  I use Sourceforge to get the latest
version of stable and build new packages.  An older copy of seednodes.ref
was in that directory and I assumed it came from CVS.  That is why I
suggested the need to check in a modern version for the stable branch.

I took a transient node behind my firewall and made it a permanent 5046.
I will now seed it with the updated information and maybe it will begin
to contribute something to the network.  Thank you for clearing up the
misunderstanding.  These learning curves never seem to end ;-)
