Maybe we should have something like this? * = bold
LOW SECURITY MODE: Since you don't know anyone on Freenet, it will use low security mode. This should still provide some limited protection: - *Your downloads, browsing, etc, may be traceable by a determined attacker.* - *Your uploads (chat posts etc) should be reasonably safe*, provided that you always use the "generate a random key" option ("SSK") when uploading a file (Freenet will remind you about this but other Freenet apps may not). - You should change your chat identity occasionally, if using one of the chat apps. - Please try to get some friends using Freenet as soon as you can, as this will greatly increase your security! Freenet is still experimental, so you use it at your own risk! Thank you! Where to put this? - Wizard? - Security levels page? - "How safe am I?" page or something? If we put it on the wizard, we can have a really simple first page: Do you know anyone on Freenet? Yes/No/Custom settings... Since IMHO we simply cannot make opennet safe against, say, a determined handful of academics with limited resources, we shouldn't provide a false sense of security. I dunno if the above will put off a lot of users?
