As long as the crypto *interface* is clearly defined, one could even use
some weak encryption method for the first release as proof-of-concept,
a one-liner even ("XOR the bytes with the encryption key")
I confess that I'm not sure where in the code the crypto goes... I'm new
to this codebase (I wandered here from the Gnutella project when I felt
that they might not be able to solve their scalability, naming and searching
issues...)
