It's been added. In order to test the code to my satisfaction, I added a new .freenetrc option, "doHandshake", which defaults to true. Set it to false and the code does not attempt to handshake. Combine this with entries like tcp/somehost:9 (the "discard" port) in nodes.config and you can test the request timeout code.
