As your post mentioned, the NSA's traffic analysis capabilities are poorly understood, but must be assumed to be *extremely sophisticated.* With an annual budget greater than that of all other US intel. combined (FBI, CIA, DIA, DISA, NRO, etc.) -- an estimated US$2B (US$2000 million for you Brits) -- we must assume they are formidible. So, a standard run-of-the-mill considered to be *very* secure mix is probably, in reality, insufficient. Unfortunately, the topic didn't get much play.
