Congratulations, you have just endured the miracles of "beta"
software. When 0.3 comes out I'm planning on doing two things.
1) Writing a C++ port of it to, erm, help the Java people around
here see that:

2) Packaging the java one up in an RPM format.
3) Post result to freenet-dev where it will be picked apart and
talked about at length, but nobody will submit any patches for.
Look on the bright side though.. once you get it installed, you'll
be able to network with the 3 other functioning Freenet nodes out
there!
