We want to be 1.1 compliant for reasons of compatibility with free JVMs
and portability to a variety of operating systems. When Kaffe can be
verified to be fully 1.2 supporting then I think a lot of people will be
swayed to start using 1.2 features. I'd still like to keep it to 1.1 until
everything operating system I can think of which supports Java supports
Java 1.2. You have, for instance, Mac OS 9, BeOS, and BSD derivatives to
think of.

I've lost track of where the various JVMs and OSs are in terms of
supporting Java 1.2, so someone will need to let us know when the goal of
everyone supporting 1.2 has been reached.
