We want to be 1.1 compliant for reasons of compatibility with free JVMs and portability to a variety of operating systems. When Kaffe can be verified to be fully 1.2 supporting then I think a lot of people will be swayed to start using 1.2 features. I'd still like to keep it to 1.1 until everything operating system I can think of which supports Java supports Java 1.2. You have, for instance, Mac OS 9, BeOS, and BSD derivatives to think of. I've lost track of where the various JVMs and OSs are in terms of supporting Java 1.2, so someone will need to let us know when the goal of everyone supporting 1.2 has been reached. _______________________________________________ Devl mailing list Devl at freenetproject.org http://www.uprizer.com/mailman/listinfo/devl
