I am of course still dead set against it for the same reason as before, that we should use standards instead of inventing our own protocols since each protocol we invent is something else that client writers have to implement over and over again. Using standards leads to easy multi-language code reuse and easy interoperability with existing architectures such as GNOME, etc., etc..
