Many people have been submitting patches for bugs which they find, this is all well and good, but since many people are too lazy to automatically patch their CVS checkouts it may refer in better testing to put patches straight into CVS, also send them to the list, and if someone, seeing the patch, really complains, back it out. Recall that the trunk branch is not the release branch, and is therefore ideally suited to this task.
