Just FYI, This morning I was adding some bloat to freenet.exe, the system tray utility. Additionally to an error message, the system tray icon will change to to a disabled "Hops" when failing to start the node. It will change the icon when manually starting/stopping the node via the menu entries as well, giving some visual feedback. I am by no means a graphics designer, so if anybody wants to provide me with a better icon, feel free to do so.
This will make it into 0.3.7.2 whenever it is released. The source and binary is in the Contrib/wininstall CVS.
