My answer is that it would be nice if a standard for generating data specific UID values was agreed upon, and that that has been discussed before, but that that is a lot more difficult then just saying "SHA1 hash", and that we would not be able to go along with such a standard unless it did what we need (preencrypt the data, allow verification of segments). -- 'DeCSS would be fine.
