It might be pretty inconvenient to commit your seed file (nearly) every day. Now might be the right time to think whether to implement the (nonpublic) harvesting node idea to automatically rather current references (there might be permanent nodes outside which are not run by the developers) and have it replace (even better make it additionally) to the test(!) directory.
