I'm running a recent Freenet snapshot (from freenetproject.org/snapshots/ at the time when it said "freenet-latest.jar 23-Aug-2002 00:01 1.1M"). Platform is OpenBSD 3.1, using the Linux JDK 1.3 (reported as "Sun Microsystems Inc. version 1.3.1_04" in :8890/).
When I connect to the FCP port, it accepts the connection, then immediately closes it: pegasus:/home/freenet$ telnet localhost 8481 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. There is nothing relevant to this in the freenet logfile (logLevel normal). I was seeing the same behavior running build 493; updating to 495 did not help.
