Some of us around here have actually been trying to code this. Suggested series of events: 1) Support ?date=YYYYMMDD. Any moron should be able to use this, but it is obviously inconvenient. 2) Support ?date=YYYYMMDD links, within freenet, by fixing the content filter or by changing the date inclusion format. This allows sites such as TFE to have [active]links pointing to previous days. I made a test page with activelinks to the last 3 months of TFE, for example, and some surprisingly old versions showed up. It should be at KSK at activehistorytest1.html , but it trips the content filter due to its use of ?'s. It also allows, much more easily, for a site to point to an old edition of another site for whatever reason. 3) Change the fproxy DNF page, if the site was a DBR, to have an option for a different date. This could be a dropdown box with different dates, a box asking for how many days ago, etc etc. 4) Make fproxy aware of activelinks, somehow. Suggest that we make a special metadata tag for DBRs for a thumbnail image. Legacy sites may be supported by a registry in fproxy of activelink locations for legacy DBR sites... or they may not be. Change the DNF page again, so it shows activelinks for the last week/month/whatever for the site. 5) Make the DNF page adapt for DBRs with periods other than 1 day.
Currently, I am working on or stuck on 2) and 3). Any help would be appreciated :) -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
