Just a suggestion for the author, perhaps if freenet-webinstall.exe
can't download the latest jar it should log an error and exit, rather
than deleting *all* the files in C:\Program Files\Freenet-0.4 and then
exiting!
I had a node running that was using a freenet.jar about a week old,
ran the webinstall program, if failed to download freenet.jar and
deleted *everything* in that directory. I live behind an
authenticating proxy, which freenet-webinstall.exe doesn't understand
(unlike a whole swag of other progs that use IE's proxy settings).
Perhaps downloading to a temporary directory, maybe under %TEMP% and
moving the files into C:\Program Files\Freenet-0.4 only if it all
succeeds?
I think cygwin's setup program is open source, maybe take a look at
how they use IE's proxy settings. www.cygwin.com
