Just to finish this discussion that i inadvertantly started my node is
running fantastically under the JRE1.4 I have no clue what was causing the
problem but it had happened to my node under JRE1.3.1_02 and the 1.4 version
was causing the same error when using JRE1.3.1_02 as it's runtime
enviroment...

Not a production JRE, running not a production freenet node :-) Any
wonder you're getting weird errors?

I haven't experienced it myself, but on the other hand, I haven't been
able to retrieve _anything_ through my node for about a fortnight.
