I installed a Freenet node on a Win2k server I'm setting up for a class. This
machine is
part of a private domain, but it has a public, static IP number. The Win
installer did this
automatically:

# The I.P. address of this node as seen by the public internet.
# This is needed in order for the node to determine its own
# NodeReference.
ipAddress=timmm

"timmm" is the hostname of the machine, but this isn't going to help any nodes
that are
not part of the private domain. I've reset this field to the value of the real
IP address, but is there any way the installer could catch this sort of thing
on its own?

"you know, Linux needs a platform game

billgatus and hit the key to drop him into the
lava and then you see some guy that looks
like a RMS or someone say 'Thank you for
rescuing me Tux, but Linus Torvalds is in another castle!'"
        --seen on irc.openprojects.org, #debian
