I second this suggestion. I would really like the option to run my Freenet node at a slightly lower priority than normal in windows. I know I can manually set it thru the task manager every time I reboot, but I would appreciate the option to not have to worry about.
Before I discovered that manually lowering priority improves my system performance, I had tried to keep my node up 24/7, but I had unfortunately had to stop my node occasionally during heavy traffic in order to play an online game without "lagging" horribly. Now, with priority set to "below normal", I can play with acceptable response time, and I no longer stop the node. I think that most windows users won't run nodes 24/7 if they encounter this problem, so please implement a configurable setting or set Freenet/Java to run "below normal" priority. I don't believe this will hurt Freenet's performance noticeably.
