MathewB and MathewT:

Fproxy SplitFile downloading remains utterly broken in the HEAD and rel-0-5-1
branches.

What needs to be filtered with the anonymity filter?
Back when I first wrote the SplitFile downloader UI only html was filtered.
My original code punted downloading of html splitfile downloading by flatly
refusing to download SplitFiles The download UI was only launched after
the mime type check (which could be forced by a user override to accept
unknown mime types) so the SplitFile downloading code never had
to deal with filtering.

It looks like mb has hacked up the downloading code to attempt to filter all
content. Is this really nescessary? The SplitFile downloading code should
never execute unless the mime type check has already been run. What anonymity
threat are you attempting to trap?

mb are you actively working on fixing the MAIN branch?

It annoys me that it is broken. I run the MAIN build on my machine and I
can't even use the FEC code that I spent many weekends carefully
testing and debugging.

p.s.

It appears to work in the rel-0-5-0 branch. Is that what the 0.5.0.4 release
is built from? Or are SplitFiles broken for all the clueless newbies too?
