this is a tough one to call.  One the one hand, I really, really, really
want to agree with you on this one - this is a problem which is biting me
in the ass with the audio streaming stuff.  

however, just upping the maxhtl everytime the network gets larger is kinda
like lenghening the noose around your neck - it'll help you for now, but
you're still gonna hang :-p.
