I reverted the patch. The problem cannot be fixed as I was intending to do it, since the code is very clever and only reloads properties when they are required, leaving us no way to reload all of them at one time (and so no way to have an authoritive list of which ones may exist in the serialized version).
I'm going to write a lean implementation of DataObjectStore that doesn't use directory, but serializes itself to a single file. It's only and hour or two of work.
