I've been running a persistent freenet installation since summer of 2000 but fell off the wagon during the darkest days of ds corruption/vanishment. A few days ago, lured by the promise of a ds fix, I installed the .5pre software and, lo, what a stunning improvement! It runs, it just runs! Packets come in, packets go out, error messages don't seem to be leading to blocking problems of any sort, and the ds is swelling so rapidly that I'm going to have to add a drive to support it properly. I don't use the network much for retrieving but in noodling around fe page views do seem snappier and more reliable.
Nice Job! Congratulations! Performance so good that they'll _have_ to try to shut it down! -- "Sometimes things aren't exactly black and white when it comes to accounting procedures." - George W.
