I'm seeing similar behaviour since updating to/release of 0.5. My
system (Linux 2.4, Athlon 700Mhz, 512MB of RAM) has been sitting at a
loadavg of 20+, 100% CPU utilization with the new code. I can't access
any of the status servlets to look at any stats on the node itself; the
browser just sits and spins its "loading" anim without ever getting a
response. (The servlets do appear to be running - "netstat -an" reports
something listening on those ports, but nothing ever responds. they had
been working fine previous to the 0.5 release/upgrade.)
"netstat -an" shows several dozen connections in SYN_RECV state, and
many, many others in CLOSE_WAIT and ESTABLISHED states.
It appears that the node is just making lots and lots of connections,
many of which never connect.
