It turns out I only killed Nagle on *outbound* connections. Disabling Nagle on incoming connections as well should have a similar effect. (I am assuming all connections go through tcpConnection.java ?). Anyway, this should further reduce connection/hop times. Builds 528 and 604 have this mod, are in CVS and snapshots. Will get 0.5.0.4 out ASAP Thursday with this change and maybe a few others.
In other news, longs in the config, for example storeSize, now accept suffixes attached to floating point values: storeSize=4.2G will now work (but only in the unstable branch for now). In both branches, connections on the private address ranges specified in RFC 1738 are now not subject to the bandwidth limiter. This will definitely go into 0.5.0.4. More sophisticated handling will be implemented if demand justifies it. -- Matthew Toseland toad at amphibian.dyndns.org amphibian at users.sourceforge.net Freenet/Coldstore open source hacker.
