They're mostly rational low-memory optimisations, but I wasn't expecting to 
have to put in so many. It would be good if applets could request a different,
more aggressive GC like you can from the command line. Anyway, OT ..

Yeah just an example, it's hard to compare freenet performance since it's so
chaotic but I *think* it's a bit faster assuming you have enough RAM on 1.5.
Using the server VM, anyway.

So has Kaffe or whatever been confirmed working by anyone yet? I was going to
try it myself but didn't get around to it. I think this is an important goal.
