Ian added a suggestion tracker recently. This is prominently linked from our
web page http://freenetproject.org.

Current top 5 suggestions:

1. (21 votes) show a progress screen when loading a page

I actually added this one, to gauge public support for it, but I have
retracted my one vote. Apparently it's really popular. The one user comment
is from the XUL advocate.

2. (20 votes) one GUI for all

This seems to be a combination between frustration at not having all freenet's
functionality in one place, which we are rectifying, and somebody's XUL
advocacy. We are working on the former. The latter - writing a custom
interface in XUL - is IMHO a lot of work for little gain.

3. (15 votes) Allow bounties for tasks

Ian has rebutted but not closed this one.

4. (14 votes) better update system

IMHO our update system rocks. The reason this is so popular is that recently a
lot of updates have failed, because we changed the freenet-ext.jar in
incompatible ways. Old nodes were therefore unable to UOM. This has been
fixed in trunk. There may be bugs but all the functionality for updating is
there, except perhaps for "give more information".

5. (12 votes) Let node serve installation package

This is much the same idea as the old distribution servlet. There are firewall
complications, but it's a good idea.
