After a conversation with someone on #freenet , it looks like new node
installs are broken.

I had a very odd wget:

browser at servalan:~$ wget

The other times I wasn't able to fetch it at all because of having some
internet problems at the time ... but Tesla|Home had a reproducible bug ...

[23:54] <toad_> Tesla|Home: so your node tried to migrate to the salted hash
store when you restarted it, this took a long time, so you killed it
[23:54] <toad_> Tesla|Home: then you uninstalled it and tried to reinstall
[23:55] <toad_> Tesla|Home: what happened when you tried to use the GUI
installer, exactly?
[23:55] <Tesla|Home> toad_: okay. i followed isntructions on download page
strictly downloading new_installer.jar to my home folder in ubuntu 7.04 linux
and runing it as user. i did not altered installation path. it
was /home/tesla/Freenet when it came to downloading fteenet_stable.jar (i
dont remember actual filename) i saw dowloading spikes on my network monitor
and after a while that error message
[23:57] <toad_> Tesla|Home: you told it to install freenet
in /home/tesla/Freenet
[23:57] <toad_> Tesla|Home: and it got to downloading
freenet-stable-latest.jar, and then got some sort of error message?
[23:57] <toad_> Tesla|Home: what was the error message?
[23:58] <Tesla|Home> toad_: not exactly. i was not using freenet for long
time. than i started it. it upgraded itself and started migrating. i just did
not wanted to wait so i stoped it and removed /datastore folder. then i
created folder named datastore. started the node. got file not found errors.
gave up. removed whole /freenet and tryed fresh install
[23:58] <toad_> Tesla|Home: file not found errors?
[23:58] <toad_> Tesla|Home: in the wrapper.log ?
[23:58] <toad_> Tesla|Home: i don't suppose you kept wrapper.log ?
[23:59] <toad_> Tesla|Home: did the web interface start to load? did it show
the startup log?
[23:59] <Tesla|Home> toad_: unfortunally i dont have screenshot saved, but the
message was window title: 'process execution failed' window body 'continue
anyway? yes/no' and buttons yes and no
[00:00] <toad_> hmmm ok
[00:00] <toad_> i have no idea what that is
[00:01] <toad_> but it did exactly the same 3 times?
[00:01] <Tesla|Home> if i clicked yes, it carried on but the node did not
started and i was not able to open 127.0.0.1:8888
[00:01] <Tesla|Home> yes. 3 times in a row untill i tryed cli install and it
worked
[00:01] <toad_> that is very odd
