The reason for the warning was for classes which will be used in MXML. If 
that's not a concern for you, you can disable the warnings. That's what the 
compiler option is for. I have this warning disabled for all my projects. If 
you can come up with a better solution that will support MXML files, I'd be 
very happy to hear.

It's probably a bug. Without help from folks like you, it's going to be 
difficult to fix it. If you have a proposed solution to the UTF8 issue, please 
make a PR.
