@cziegeler, not sure I agree - do you really want extensions to be conditional to the feature they are in?
I can see that this would make extensions more powerful but, taking into account the new merging of features into a single one, it really would be conditional on what the final, merged, feature looks like and my feeling is that this would make it very hard to reason about features in isolation.
