Hi, @pnowojski I agree with you now: change all CHAR to VARCHAR in Flink. And yes, this is a serious problem since `case when`, `concat`, etc are very commonly used in SQL. Considering that changing CHAR to VARCHAR brakes backward compatibility, I think we can provide a configuration that whether to change char to varchar for users.
