If `notMerge` is set, new data will not be compared to the previous data. Technically speaking, this saves the comparing time, so it may be quicker than merge. But more importantly, the animation from the changes will not be available if `notMerge`. I'd suggest figure out the real problem rather then use `notMerge`. But if it works for you, that's also OK.
