In PR #508 it was suggested to modify the regular expression used to parse the output of the mercurial annotate command. While testing it was identified, that more corner cases need to be covered.
This PR supersedes the referenced PR with a further modified regexp. It also adds an analysis/description for the format and supplies unittests.
