It would be useful when debugging docker images, to have the hash commit from a previous point in time of the image to compare images or extend a specific commit/nightly in another repo.
I propose we take same approach we do in core repo with the controller and invoker images, using the first 7 characters of the hash commit, which seems to be a standard practice.
