I'm pretty sure I manually pulled out the instantiations into a separate file when I had this problem in the past to see if this would work and it did.
I'm not following you. base() is only run inside the constructor. Where do you think the constructors will be run early? Unless you have a case where you have circular static (or semi-circular) refs in constructors, I'm having trouble coming up with scenarios where this will not work.
