I meant that such a scenario would usually be handled using `peerDependencies` *in the npm eco-system*. The rest of my post describes why this is not easily achievable with how Cordova is currently laid out. And yes, I think that the version pinning we do in `cordova-lib` is somewhat of a crutch to compensate for that. Whether we actually *need* it is quite subjective IMHO.
