@ermouth I just wanted to mention in passing that several folks are working on [porting the existing JS tests to Elixir](https://github.com/apache/couchdb/tree/elixir-suite/test/elixir). So if you are having trouble running the JS test, it might be simpler to just port it (rather than add to something that will shortly be replaced anyway), depending on your inclination to work in Elixir.
