That's a good point about the audience of the docs. Cpaturing this info somewhere outside of a PR for future is def good, and in the code sound like a good idea for now.
Or perhaps as doc-strings against relevant classes (DagFileProcessor)? They won't be rendered anywhere in to the docs at the moment, but could easily be in the future.
