FYI, I intend to move the spacemanager to xwiki-platform-plugins and release it as 1.0 in the coming days. For now, if you already have a custom build of xwiki/XE, then just add the dependency towards it in your build, and inject/add it in the plugin list of xwiki.cfg for having your wiki "spacemanager ready". In the curriki wiki, Groups/* and Group_TemplateSpace/* contains velocity UIs for it, but as Ludovic said, it's curriki specific; however, it can help to understand how the plugin works and can be used. The use of the currikispacemanager itself won't interest you I suppose, as it's just an extension of the spacemanager adding to spaces curriki-framework related content and validation. But here also, it can be usefull as an example of how to extend the spacemanager.
