Hi Wang, The Office import is very important. This is a requirement more and more from clients. Now there is less information on that since it has some prerequisites:
- new rendering module - new wysiwyg editor Now I think we are on track to have this for the Summer of Code, so it would be great to have a good student on this project. The project is a it complex since it has multiple parts requiring different technologies: - one back end part able to convert any content given (from copy paste, from file, from webservice) to something that can be put in an existing page. - one front end in the wysiwyg editor (for copy paste, uploading file and telling where to import it and in which form). This will be in GWT. - one front end in xwiki ui to import to a existing or new page We need to make this modular to be able to have lots of different import sources. The ones I think in order of importance are - MS Word from copy paste - Excel from copy paste (to wiki table) - HTML from copy paste - Any MSOffice or OpenOffice file - Google Docs - XML source from HTTP WebService The highest priority is a great import plugin in Java. Bindings to the UI can be done later but would be great of course. Ludovic Wang Ning wrote: > Hi, > > I'm a graduate student from Institute of Software, China Academy of > Sciences.
