Actually that'll only work with XE 1.8M1 and above. I suggest you  
install XE 1.8M1 which you can download on http://xwiki.org.

Then once install click in the top menu on Action -> Import Office  
Document
You'll need to run OpenOffice as indicated on the 
http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Applications/OfficeImporterApplication 
  page
