SAML authentication is not a priority anymore, since we (will) have 
OpenID support, and this seems to be the more successful and useful SSO 
mechanism.

Support for AJAX calls is not profitable at the moment, since it will 
either become deprecated soon after completion, or it requires prior 
work for transforming parts of the current xwiki-core into proper 
components.

The Web Services integration is interesting, and might complement our 
new REST and GWT APIs. This will need a more detailed discussion on the 
devs list, to see if it is indeed something we want and need.
